The Family Computer, commonly referred to as the Famicom was released in 1983 as Nintendo's first cartridge-based gaming console. It became the best selling game console in Japan by the end of 1984.

This was the first Nintendo game to wear the classic logo on it, and it was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto at the beginning of his career at the Big N.
